Dance Desk

Privacy policy

Last updated: 6 November 2026

In short: Dance Desk reads your organisation's Stripe card payments so you can see events and check people in. We keep only what the app needs, we show no ads, we use no analytics or tracking, and we don't sell your data.

This policy explains how the Dance Desk app for iPhone (“Dance Desk”, “we”, “us”), made by Apps of Steel, handles information. Dance Desk is used by dance organisers and their team. Most of the information in it belongs to the organisation that uses it, and that organisation decides who is invited.

Information about you as a user

You sign in with Apple. Apple gives us an anonymous user identifier and, if you choose to share it, your email address (which can be a private relay address). We store these, the organisations you belong to and your role (owner, admin, viewer or door), and a hashed sign-in token. The sign-in token on your phone is kept in the iOS Keychain. We also record which user checked someone in or added a guest, so your team can see who did what.

Information about an organisation's customers

When an organiser connects their Stripe account, Dance Desk imports that account's card payments using a read-only Stripe key the organiser authorised. For each payment we store the amount, currency, status, refunds, date, description, receipt link and, when Stripe provides them, the payer's name and email. Organisers can also add free guests (name and optional email), mark people as checked in, and save notes, phone numbers or merged-customer details for a customer. We don't receive full card numbers. Dance Desk cannot create charges, refunds or change anything in Stripe.

This information is stored per organisation and shown only to members of that organisation, according to their role. Door staff see attendee lists and check-in controls only.

Where it is stored

Data is stored with our hosting provider, Cloudflare (Workers and D1 database). Cloudflare may also keep basic technical request logs for a short time. Payment data comes from Stripe, which handles it under its own privacy policy.

How we use it

Only to run the app: to show events, payments, customers, reports and check-in lists, to keep you signed in, and to keep each organisation's data separate. We don't use it for advertising or profiling.

What we don't do

Dance Desk has no advertising, no analytics or tracking tools, and no third-party SDKs that collect data. We don't sell or share your data, except with the service providers named above that are needed to run the app.

Deleting your account

In Dance Desk, go to Settings › Account › Delete account. This permanently deletes your account, organisation memberships, Sign in with Apple link and sign-in tokens. Records that belong to the organisation, such as payments and attendance, are kept for the organisation, without your name attached to the actions you took. To have an organisation's data removed, or to disconnect its Stripe account, the organiser should contact us.

Children

Dance Desk is a tool for event organisers and is not directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect their information.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you, or exercise other rights under data protection law (such as the UK GDPR), by contacting us. For information about a customer of an organisation, the organisation is usually the right first contact, and we'll help them respond.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the date above. Significant changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
